Dropped in for an early dinner. Staff very helpful, we took our dog with us and ate in the bar. The bar is spotless and fine for young children. This is a very clean and well run business, will be back. Hand cut chips, are a must in here.

What a lovely place to eat! Super bistro-style food, excellent service, relaxed atmosphere too. Was a bitty noisy when we were there, but it was an early booking and tere were families eating. It's also an inclusive place, as they cater for clients with additional needs, as we saw that night. We ll definitely be back!

We hadn't booked a table but were given a booth for the two of us on Sunday afternoon. The staff were very attentive - we were concerned we might get forgotten about given we were seated at the last booth at the end of a dead end corridor, but we were well looked after. The carvery itself was very good quality and generous with what's included - you can choose three slices of any roast, plus any of the specials (I had venison cottage pie, and black pudding haggis stuffed chicken), as well as your veg sides, Yorkies, and gravy/sauces. Only very small gripe was the peas which were quite dry. Everything else was so delicious including the pate for starter.

Fabulous carvery with a choice of roast meats and main meals served from the carvery. They also had a delicious sweet trolley.....the profiteroles are amazing.....best carvery around. Be sure to book as always busy on a Sunday.

Booking was made by a family member who had visited previously but this was our (with my wife) first visit. Friendly greeting on entry and shown to a table of our choice. Food was excellent and let's face it that is the most important aspect of the visit. Portions were excellent too. I can highly recommend the breaded fish which gets the "excellent" accolade. Highly recommended and prices were very reasonable.

Spent the afternoon in the Sports Bar, staff were great, so friendly and helpful. Watched all the football and had a great time. Also has 2 pool tables

First time eating at River Inn, we made a reservation via email and got an instant reply confirming our table. Warm greeting as we entered, very attentive and friendly staff. We had the Sunday carvery with starters, very good value for money. Nachos and salt and chilli chicken, both delicious and decent sized portions and the carvery didn't disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, we're local so will definitely return.
